Dean first two-time Manager of the Year

Andrea Dean, manager of Ivy Pointe Apartments I &II in Tuscumbia, has been honored as the Alabama Housing Finance Authority’s 2012 Manager of the Year.

As manager, Dean oversees the daily operations of the developments’ 104 affordable housing units.

In its fifteenth year, the Manager of the Year award recognizes outstanding management staff at AHFA-funded multifamily housing developments. Nominees were evaluated on tenant relations, experience and education, the complex’s curb appeal, and AHFA program compliance.

“This award is an opportunity for us to show our appreciation for the hard work of managers like Andrea,” said AHFA Executive Director Robert Strickland. “The AHFA board and staff are proud to honor such dedicated individuals.”

Gateway Management Company nominated Dean for the award she received during a May 24 presentation.

“Andrea truly cares about the residents and wants to provide each and every one with a clean, quiet, safe neighborhood in which to live,” said Deborah Brown in Dean’s nomination package. “She is a caring, kind person as well as a wonderful manager. You can tell she loves her job just by the way she lights up when she talks about it.”

Dean is a two-time honoree, having also been named Manager of the Year in 2005.
