Greensboro Manager Honored for Exceptional Service
May 27, 2016
LaWanda Miller, manager of Canterbury and Griffin-Mandela Apartments in Greensboro, has been honored as the Alabama Housing Finance Authority's 2016 Manager of the Year.
As manager, Miller oversees the daily operations of the developments' 76 affordable housing units.
In its nineteenth year, the Manager of the Year award recognizes outstanding management staff at AHFA-funded multifamily housing developments. Nominees were evaluated on tenant relations, experience and education, the complex's curb appeal, and AHFA program compliance.
"This award is an opportunity for us to show our appreciation for the hard work of managers like LaWanda," said AHFA Executive Director Robert Strickland. "The AHFA board and staff are proud to honor such dedicated individuals."
Morrow Realty Company nominated Miller for the award she received during a May 26 presentation.
"Ms. Miller works diligently to help each family in need to ensure they have affordable housing options and can stay well-housed," said Pam Dorr, executive director of the Hale Empowerment and Revitalization Organization, Inc., in Miller's nomination package. "The community at Canterbury has grown under her leadership and continues to be an example of well-managed affordable housing that we can all be proud of."
