These kids had a blast and so did we at our FUNancial literacy class April 22 in Huntsville.
April is Financial Literacy Month in the United States. To commemorate the occasion, AHFA presented a special space-themed class for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Participants learned about earning, saving, spending, and giving while they enjoyed blacklights, puppets, games, giveaways, and more. Following the session, the children and their adult chaperones toured the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.
“So many children grow up without basic financial knowledge, and that makes their lives harder as adults,” said AHFA Single‐Family Administrator Carrie Hamaker. “By teaching them early about good savings habits, financial responsibility, and the differences between needs and wants, we’re better equipping today’s kids to reach for the stars tomorrow.”
