Children's Event Focuses on Value, Trade and Barter
Posted on May 18, 2026
To commemorate Financial Literacy Month, AHFA Kids visited American Village in Montevallo for an immersive, hands‑on experience focused on financial fundamentals. Students stepped back in time to explore the concepts of value, trade, and barter through interactive games, teamwork, and educational activities alongside fan‑favorite characters like Bud.
From Colonial Family Feud to the barter station, participants learned smart money skills in a way that was both engaging and memorable. The experience allowed students to connect historical practices with modern financial decision‑making, reinforcing important lessons in a fun, age‑appropriate environment.
The American Village event is just one example of how AHFA Kids continues to bring financial education to life.
