Grand Opening at Freedom Village | Montgomery, Alabama

Current and former AHFA staff joined the grand opening and ribbon cutting at Freedom Village in Montgomery. The new development, owned by Community Action Partnership of North Alabama (CAPNA), offers 56 affordable apartment units, a welcoming communal space for elderly residents, a gazebo, and elevators to ensure easy mobility. AHFA provided $3.1 million in HOME funds and $1.5 million in tax credits resulting in an equity infusion of $13.4 million for the project. This development will provide affordable housing to Montgomery’s low-income senior residents for years to come.
